Terms of Service

These Terms of Service (“Terms”) govern your use of Sky, a macOS application that lives in your notch and helps you work with what’s on screen (“Sky,” “we,” “us,” or “our”). By creating an account or using Sky, you agree to these Terms.

1. The service

Sky captures screen context locally on your Mac, lets you Ask questions about what you’re viewing, dictate with voice, and prepare actions that run only after you confirm. AI requests are routed through Sky’s mothership gateway; provider API keys are not stored on your device.

Sky is currently in private beta. Features, availability, and pricing may change. We may add, modify, or remove functionality with reasonable notice where practical.

2. Eligibility & account

You must be at least 18 years old and able to form a binding contract. You sign in with email/password or a supported OAuth provider (e.g. Google) through our authentication partner, Supabase. You are responsible for keeping your credentials secure and for activity under your account.

3. macOS permissions

Sky requires macOS system permissions to function, including Screen Recording (for Ask and context capture), Accessibility (to read on-screen text and guide you to UI elements), and optionally Microphone (for voice input). You grant these permissions through Apple’s System Settings. You may pause capture or revoke permissions at any time; some features will not work without them.

4. Acceptable use

You agree not to:

Sky blocklists sensitive apps (such as banking and password managers) by default. Do not use Sky to automate payments or send communications without reviewing previews and confirming each action.

5. Your content & context

You retain ownership of your prompts, screen context, and other content you provide. You grant us a limited license to process that content solely to operate Sky (e.g. answer Ask requests, transcribe voice, plan Act steps). See our Privacy Policy for how data is handled.

6. AI output

Sky uses third-party AI models. Responses may be inaccurate or incomplete. You are responsible for reviewing outputs before relying on them or confirming actions. Sky is not a substitute for professional advice (legal, financial, medical, or otherwise).

7. Beta disclaimer

Sky is provided on an “as is” and “as available” basis during beta. We do not guarantee uninterrupted service, error-free operation, or that data will never be lost. Back up important work independently.

8. Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, Sky and its operators will not be liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or for loss of profits, data, or goodwill, arising from your use of the service. Our total liability for any claim related to Sky is limited to the greater of (a) amounts you paid us in the twelve months before the claim or (b) USD $100.

9. Termination

You may stop using Sky and delete local data at any time. We may suspend or terminate access if you breach these Terms or if required for security or legal reasons. Sections that by nature should survive (including disclaimers and liability limits) will survive termination.

10. Changes

We may update these Terms. We will post the revised version on this page and update the “Last updated” date. Continued use after changes constitutes acceptance. Material changes may also be communicated in-app or by email.
